NC Chess Members - $25 paid in cash at the door

All Others - $35 paid in cash at the door

Registration

Must Register Online by 19 June 2025.

No entries will be accepted after 19 June. There will be no entries the day of the tournament. Entry fees will be received that day, but no late entries will be accepted. We need exact numbers and knowledge of who is playing ahead of time.

Please arrive by 9:30 so we will not have to rush to start on time.

Eligibility

Must be a resident of NC and age 65 or older by 31 December 2025. Must be a member of the NC Chess Association (if not a member then your $35 entry fee includes NC Chess membership).

Food

Lunch, Coffee, and Snacks will be provided on a donation basis. All donations will go to the Senior Center.

T-Shirts

Each player will receive a t-shirt - please designate size during registration.

Format

Three Rounds G/60;d5

Round Times: Rd 1: 10:00 | Rd 2: 12:45 | Rd 3: ASAP

Please arrive by 9:30 so we will not have to rush to start on time.

Three Sections

Championship (for players 1600 and over) a player may play up if they are within 100 points of cut off.

First Place: $500 | Second Place: $300

U1600 (for players under 1600) a player may play up if they are within 100 points of cut off.

First Place: $300 | Second Place: $200

U1300 (for players under 1300).

First Place: $200 | Second Place: $100

June Supplements will be used. Tournament Director may revise sections depending upon registration numbers.

Trophies

First place and ties in the Championship Section will be declared the NC Super Senior State Champion.

First place and ties in the U1600 Section will be declared the NC U1600 Super Senior State Champion.

First place and ties in the U1300 Section will be declared the NC U1300 Super Senior State Champion.

All tiebreaks for titles and trophies will be according to the USCF tiebreak system.

Table Prizes

Each Round a small table prize for the winner of each table will be provided to be claimed by the game winner. They will consist of gift cards and other items.
